Explores contemporary piano techniques through the legacy of George Crumb, and in particular the first volume of the work Makrokosmos. It contains a bibliographic research to contextualize the work and identify the origins and history of contemporary techniques. Besides a musical analysis of both the form and internal structure, as the compositional techniques of that work was done. The analysis showed that the compositional resources used by Crumb in Makrokosmos are developing a number of techniques that the composer started to use in Five Pieces for Piano; in turn, the development and systematization of these techniques began in the early twentieth-century authors such as Henry Cowell. It includes an interview with pianist Jeffrey Jacob, allowing solve a lot of issues generated after the investigation. The work is published online in RIA (Repositorio Institucional de Asturias)
